Low Strength Concrete

Low strength concrete can be an economical way to fill tanks, trenches, and holes. The concrete is designed to reach strengths of 20 – 250 psi. At the low end of that range the concrete gets as hard as firm dirt, which means it can be removed later with hand tools. The most economical kinds of low strength concrete – usually called CDF, for controlled density fill, or CLSM, for controlled low-strength material – don’t pump through concrete pumps.
